Position: Professional Software Trainer Deadline: March 18th, 2012
Type: Full Time  

Base salary range for this position is $35,000-$45,000 dependent upon experience and education.

Visual-Eyes® is the premiere practice management software of the eye care industry in Canada. Founded in 1996, we have grown to over 300 clinics across Canada and are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Trainer to join our team.

Reporting to the Training Manager, and based in Red Deer, Alberta, the main focus of this role is to train new and existing clients in Visual-Eyes software. The successful candidate will be required to travel extensively across Canada or approximately 80% of the time.

Primary Duties:

  • Train clients across Canada on Visual-Eyes, both remotely and on site

  • Install and configure Visual-Eyes in clients’ office
  • Consult with clients to optimize their practice performance
  • Post implementation support
  • Assist clients with hardware, software or operating system problems as they relate to our program

  • Arrange courtesy visits to clients, and travel to trade shows as a representative of Visual-Eyes
  • Assisting development in the testing and debugging of software and make recommendations for upgrades and new features

  • Basic networking may be required, as well as installation of peripheral devices

  • Internal training of new team members

  • Work with clients and their other vendors (IT Professionals, Equipment Representatives, etc), to determine best course of action for installs and maintenance.

  • Configure Visual-Eyes to interface with optometric peripheral devices

  • Work with sales staff to organize training and review sales quotes

Supplemental Responsibilities:

  • Assist Training Manager in conducting individual, and group training sessions.  Develop training curricula; formulate or reviews training outlines, and determine appropriate instructional methodologies and formats

  • Assists Training Manager in the development and preparation of Training Manuals and instructional materials, quizzes and job aids from reference tools appropriate to specific program objectives.

  • Responsible for implementation and evaluation of training program designed to track performance and identify quality opportunities.

  • Respond to inquiries and resolve problems related to transactions handled by the unit; serves as liaison with other constituencies in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and communication training issues.

  • Assists Operations with their communication-related concerns and conducts necessary TNA, call monitoring, coaching, and refresher training.

Requirements:

  • This position requires approximately 80% of the time travel across Canada, please do not apply if you are unable to travel extensively
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree

  • At least 2 year(s) of working experience in software training

  • Must have excellent oral & written English, business and technical writing skills

  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Experience as project head or team member a plus

  • Must be able to problem solve and develop better methods to operate training classes

  • Medical or Optometry industry experience an asset

Technical Qualifications:

  • Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7. Familiarity with Server 2003+, 2008, and 2011an asset

  • Familiar with hardware, network and printer troubleshooting
