Glenn Chong
President, SOTH Inc.

Glenn started in his academic career as undergraduate student in the mathematics department at the University of Waterloo in 1987. In 1991, after completing numerous actuarial exams he earned the professional designation of Associate of the Society of Actuaries. In 1992 he obtained a Bachelors of Mathematics, a double major in Statistics and Actuarial Science. At this point he decided that he was really a scientist at heart and went on to complete his Bachelors of Science in Physics in 1993 and a Master of Mathematics in Statistic in 1994, both at the University of Waterloo. In 1995, Glenn completed a Masters of Engineering Physics, at the University of Toronto.

While working on his last degree, Glenn started contract programming on the side in order to make ends meet. At this point, Glenn felt he needed to take a year off before continuing his education.

Although contract programming was attractive, Glenn was often disappointed by the quality of software that he was able to produce on the limited budgets available to his clients. The result was many unpaid hours required to create software acceptable to his personal standards. In 1996, SOTH Inc. was formed; based on the simple philosophy of, "create the best software possible, and take care of the client!" The objective of SOTH Inc. was to find a software project, which could be properly developed with an absolute commitment to quality and then be sold to many clients. And thus Glenn started down the long road of creating the practice management software known as Visual-Eyes®.

In what little spare time he has available, Glenn enjoys bowling, tennis, collecting teddy bears and flying. As an avid pilot, he has flown across Canada several times.
